Work is officially underway to transform Fruge Road, East of the intersection at Kirby Drive in Pearland’s Lower Kirby. Crews broke ground May 7 on a project that will deliver a smoother concrete roadway, new sidewalks on the north side, extended water lines, and upgraded intersections. Completion is expected in early 2026.
These improvements will boost mobility, expand city utilities, and prepare the corridor for major business growth. The project supports the Pearland Prosperity Strategic Plan by ensuring the Lower Kirby area is ready for new investment with quality infrastructure and shovel-ready sites. It’s another step toward making one of Pearland’s fastest-growing areas even more connected, competitive, and ready for what’s next.
